Bakrie University Lecturer Leads Ieee Comnetsat 2025 International Conference

December, 2025 — Lecturer in the Informatics Study Program at Bakrie University, Ir. Iwan Adhicandra, Ph.D., SMIEEE, appointed as General Chair IEEE International Conference on Communications, Networks, and Satellite (COMNETSAT) 2025 which was held in Padang, West Sumatra, on 11-13 December 2025 (https://comnetsat.org).

This appointment confirms the global scientific community's confidence in the role of Indonesian academics in leading international research forums in the fields of communications, networks and satellite technology. This conference is under the auspices of the IEEE Communications Society and regularly brings together researchers, academics and industry practitioners from various countries.

“We have designed IEEE COMNETSAT 2025 as a global collaboration space that not only displays superior research, but also encourages real solutions to future communication technology challenges, including the use of artificial intelligence and intelligent network systems," said Iwan Adhicandra in his statement.

At this year's event, IEEE COMNETSAT 2025 was supported by 302 members of the International Technical Program Committee (TPC) and 150 reviewers from 46 countries. The conference received 161 scientific papers from 28 countries. After going through a rigorous peer review process with an average of 3.5 reviewers per paper, a total of 96 papers were declared to have passed, with 81 papers listed for presentation.

Topics covered include Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Network & IT, Communications, Satellite, and Broadband & Photonics, with research dominance in the field of data science and AI.

According to Iwan, holding an international conference in Padang also has strategic significance for Indonesia. "We hope that the presence of IEEE COMNETSAT 2025 in Padang can strengthen Indonesia's position on the global research map as well as open up wider international collaboration opportunities for national academics and researchers," he said.

It is hoped that the holding of IEEE COMNETSAT 2025 will not only strengthen international research networks, but also encourage the development of the communications technology innovation ecosystem in Indonesia and promote the region as a host for world-class scientific conferences.
